Lleithyr Meadow is the name of The Caravan Club site adjacent to St David's. It is an open, all grass site with the backdrop of rocky hills. The situation lends itself to exploring this natural, unspoilt area - and in particular the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The site is for members of The Caravan Club only - but you could join up there and receive your first discounted rate and the incredibly useful book listing the many other Caravan Club sites.
... 'the backdrop of rocky hills ...'
Many immediate needs are satisfied a few hundred metres away.
Directions for reaching the campground are here.

A walk from the site to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path - 4¼ miles - fairly easy.
This walk is on lanes and moorland and takes in ¾ mile of the Coast Path. Dominating the walk is the rocky outcrop of Carn Llidi.

From the campground exit turn right on the road. In 200 to 300 metres there is a sign to the right to a Youth Hostel. Take this lane.
Ahead you will see the rock, Carn Llidi. You will be skirting the eastern base of this. The white building ahead is the Youth Hostel. You will be passing just to the right of this.
Turn left at the Youth Hostel sign.
Go to the right of the Youth Hostel ...
... to pick up this grassy footpath.
Through a gate you are presented with this fork in the footpaths. Take the right hand one.
The path is clearly defined ...
... and runs by a wire fence and old stone wall.
It clearly departs from this wall to run to the left and uphill ...
... at the brow of which a new vista is opened up.
Continue downhill ...
... aiming for the Coast Path which runs along what appears to be, from this aspect, a cliff edge.
The Coast Path is reached. Turn right. With inadequate directions, some anxiety can now be experienced! You are looking for a path to the right to head you back towards the campground, It is ¾ mile from the point of joining the Coast Path - and you can be assured that it is clearly marked.
The first of several signs that you are on the right path.
T
More fantastic coastal views.
You pass a deep drop.
The colours!
Two more encouraging ...
... signs!
Here is the clear indication that it is time to turn right.
The path goes up ...
... and over this stile.
There is then this sunken pathway ...
... at the end of which go right, ignoring a sign that shows a footpath straight ahead.
To the right is this stile and the diagonal crossing of the field as indicated by the footpath arrow thereon.
This leads through this farm and on to a track which takes you on to the start the Youth Hostel road for you to eventually turn left for the campground.
For the last bit there is the encouraging view of 'Base Camp'.
A printer friendly version of this walk is available.
